Alex Writes a Letter

Alex is 61 years young, has an intellectual disability and still lives with his amazing parents.

Alex has never successfully been able to write a physical letter to loved ones. With the support of his Community Facilitators Joe & Les, this goal was recently made a reality.

After Alex returned from his supported holiday on the Gold Coast last year, Alex wanted to share his experiences with his Aunt & Uncle.

With guidance & support from our Community Facilitators, Alex quickly grasped alphabet recognition and then worked towards simple sentence structure.

Pictured is Alex and his first ever letter addressed to his Aunt & Uncle.

As you can imagine; Alex, his support staff and everyone here at Interchange Loddon-Mallee Region are very proud of his achievement.

Well done Alex, and well done team
