The impact of the devastating fires throughout Australia is being felt everywhere. Keen to offer support, Interchange staff recently sat down to discuss how we could help, with the result being a Trivia afternoon held on Saturday, 1st February!
This sold out event, held at The Bendigo Club, provided hours of entertainment for more than 115 guests consisting of Interchange staff, participants, family and friends, supporters from Bendigo Community Health and other local organisations.
A massive $ $3554.20 was raised on the day thanks to the support of guest ticket sales and our generous sponsors who donated items to be auctioned and raffled on the day. The full list of sponsors who supported our Trivia event are listed at the bottom of this email. Thank you so much.
The committee agreed to donate funds raised to the CFA Public Fund so they can continue the work they are doing to protect lives and property in Victoria. The funds will be used to fund new initiatives such as research programs, development and supply of new education and community information materials as well as direct support to brigades where it is needed.
A big thank you to the organising committee, consisting of Hope, Steph, Alicia, Sal, Janette, Cindy and Eli, who planned and facilitated this fantastic event. A big thank you also goes to The Bendigo Club for providing the venue at no charge, and Floktu for waiving the fees for people to book tickets online.
A big shout out to Callum from Bendigo Community Health who entertained guests as our MC for the event and The Funky Bunch from Melbourne who ran the trivia (generously discounting their fee). Griff was amazing and kept everyone very entertained for the day and the games in between were great! And our very own staff members Sally Miller and and Alister Nicolson, “Sal and Al” provided musical entertainment during breaks – what talent!
Special thanks also goes to two very special helpers on the day, Sabella and Darcy. These lovely girls helped guests to their seats, sold raffle tickets, helped with the games and were so polite and friendly to everyone. A big thank you for all their help on the day 😊
