Cowboys continue to shine

The start of 2021 has been a busy one for the Axe Creek All Abilities Cricket Team. The Ranch at the Longlea Recreation Reserve hosting three consecutive weekends of cricket already for the Cowboys with more to come.

These pics are from the Division 2 team as they took on the visiting team Yarraville Club Cricket Club out of the western suburbs of Melbourne.

It was a great day for the club with the Division 1 team scoring their first win for the season against Westemeadows Cricket Club and many individual highlights in Division 2.

Lachie Falls playing in his first season for the Cowboys took his first wicket for the club when he clean bowled one of the Yarraville Club batsmen. Rickey Felsenthal smashed his first ever six and Graham Harding, affectionally known as Roo at the club, played a reverse sweep that would have had Glenn Maxwell jealous.

Some of our players use the NDIS to fund their support which allows them to attend both training and match days.

The Axe Creek All Abilities have been running for 8 years now and it is an extremely fun and social program in which the players love to participate in and regularly catch up with their friends and fellow team mates.
