Our preparedness and Response to Covid-19

 

At Interchange LMR, we are committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our team members, participants and their families and we’d like to take this opportunity to share the initiatives we have put in place to ensure we all remain safe.

We are meeting daily and have implemented our own COVID-19 Response Plan that is guided by expert advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO), Federal and State Governments.  This plan has been distributed to our staff, participants and their families and we will provide regular updates as they emerge.

All Interchange LMR staff are responsible for ensuring they keep participants, visitors and themselves safe by adhering to our hygiene and social distancing policies and COVID-19 Response Plan. These policies include regular hand washing, maintaining distance from others and following appropriate coughing etiquette.

Additional steps are also being taken such as closing our offices to the public, sanitising our workplace regularly and encouraging staff to work remotely where possible. Our Community Facilitators providing direct supports to participants are also taking extra precautions with personal care, avoiding public spaces and monitoring their own and participant hygiene, health and wellbeing.

With the recent announcements made by the WHO, Federal and State governments, Interchange LMR is adjusting the following service arrangements:

  • The Interchange offices in both Mildura and Bendigo are now closed to the general public
  • All group programs effective 23rd of March have ceased until further notice, including Our Choice, Community Kids, Adult Social Group, Youth Social Group, Empowering Women, Super Saturdays, Cre8tive Minds, Sibling Groups, BAAG Social Groups, Awesome Kids and Bendigo and Mildura School Holiday programs
  • Chill on the Hill and #LoveLife programs ceased as of Wednesday 25th of March
  • Outside School Hours programs at SDS and Kalianna are still operational at this time
  • Supports are no longer being provided in the homes of direct support staff. Supports in participants’ homes or paid accommodation settings are continuing at this time
  • Approval of service agreements may be completed verbally or in writing at the agreement of the participant /nominee.

1:1 supports are continuing to be provided in participants’ homes for the purposes of personal care, access to essential services and respite. Participants who wish to access 1:1 supports please contact our office on 5441 1599.
